This picture was taken during a hike with a good friend of mine on Bornholm, near Ølene, when we walk the path of Højlyngsstien.
Højlyngsstien, which translates into “highheather trail“ is a beautiful hike from the northeastern part of Bornholm, diagonally across the island to Aarsdale, covering 67km of beautiful nature.
The trail is mainly for everybody, but some pathes requires a bit more and aren’t suited for disabled or people in wheelchairs, it is however possible to bypass these areas and continue the trail.
Personally I have hiked the trail many times, sometimes in many stages over weeks, but also as a hikethrough. I’ll wouldn’t hesitate a second recommending this to everyone who loves nature, hiking and spectacular views.
